Olamide was interviewed by City People and he was asked why he doesn’t rap in English and why he prefer dropping punchlines in Yoruba. He said,Se Ema San Wo Mi (will you pay me for that) (laughs). Like I have always said, if I want to listen to an English rap, I will rather buy a Jay Z CD, because “no Oyinbowey una go speak for here for Naija wey go fit be like people wey get Oyinbo”. I stillbelieve in indigenous hip-hip and I believeit is the future of Nigerianmusic.Talking about recording durosoke, he said;“I have always had Durosoke since when Irecorded the YBNL album. The song didn’t just make the album. It took me overnight close to four or five hours to write the song.”
